PREFACE
“Trebah My Story” is a 32 page, B5, softback, full colour, beautifully illustrated booklet, designed and printed by Rowes of Cornwall.
When I retired from the management of Trebah Garden in 2005, I wrote this account to record it’s history and how my wife Eira and I, knowing nothing about gardens or the management of gardens open to the public, spent 25 of the happiest years of our lives transforming a jungle into a garden of unique and extraordinary beauty. In the short space of 10 years, it became one of the best loved and popular gardens in England.
To round up the story I have added some pages on the Hibbert and Bradshaw (my wife) families, advice to those who come after us how to preserve the ethos of the garden and a small injection of laughter.
